Born and educated in Versailles France, Michele Elyzabeth arrived in Los Angeles, California in February 1971 after accepting a job offer from Ike and Tina Turner in Paris to join their organization as a publicist. Her career started in Paris as a journalist for the renowned Magazines Salut Les Copains and Mademoiselle Age Tendre. Writing beauty and social columns by day, and doing interviews with R&B and Rock n' Roll acts by night, she covered everything from fashion, beauty and openings of night clubs, to movies plays and concerts. Upon her arrival in LA, she found out that Ike Turner had changed his mind and did not wish for her to continue with their organization any longer… the job was over. After a succession of PR Jobs, she entered the organization of Rogers and Cowan where she actually learned her profession and trained directly under Warren Cowan, who taught her the business of PR/ Marketing and Communication. She would stay at Rogers and Cowan for a period of 8 years.
In 1978, she left Rogers & Cowan to start her first agency: Michele Elyzabeth Enterprises. In 1979, she met Lonnie Simmons who offered her the opportunity to take over the creation and development of the image for his label Total Experience and his artists, The Gap Band and Yarbrough & Peoples. This resulted in a major success for her newly formed business. In 1984, while doing PR for the funk band Lakeside, Elyzabeth started developing various businesses with former lead singer for the band, Otis Stokes. They both entered into their first partnership by creating JustUs Records, which released Otis’ first solo project.
In 1999, she formed Parapluie Inc., her present company. In 2005, Elyzabeth established a second company with still business partner Otis Stokes: Classic Artist Network, producing R&B concerts. Now she has introduced her own Champagne Label Comtesse Michele Elyzabeth, released prior to the 2006 holiday season.
